A HEART OF TRUTH A HEART OF COMPASSION

A HEART OF TRUTH
IS A HEART OF COMPASSION

Brother James, OIC

Joh 8:3-12 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. The Word of God is Seed of Truth, Spirit, Light, New Life, and Produces only Good Fruit. Compassion is the new heart formed as a result of understanding and believing Truth. The Scribes and Pharisees in these verses, though self righteous, had enough conscious to know when Truth spoke to them that they were not without sin.

How is this applied today? Only by the Blood of Jesus and our Faith in His Word have we been cleansed from sin, Born Again into a New Sin Free Creation. Does this mean our flesh has no sin, no it doesn’t but we are no longer in the flesh if we have Gods Spirit and the Spirit of Christ dwells in us:

Rom 8:9-10 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

1Jn 3:8-9 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

To commit sin is to agree with sin, which no one truly called of God does. If there is sin there is conflict as the flesh lusts against the Reborn Spirit.

Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Our beloved Apostle Paul had this same conflict:

Rom 7:14-25 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Today’s Scribes and Pharisees having crept into our Churches have secured leadership positions and are destroying many in their self righteous false teachings, evil judgments and loveless ways. They have not rightly divided the Truth of Gods Word. They ignore the fact that as they break one point, any point of the law they are guilty of breaking the whole law therefore disqualifying them from any righteous judgment of others.

But you the called of God continue to Love as Christ Loved and allow God to work His Truth in you in understanding. Good Fruit will produce and grow you to maturity, the works of the flesh will eventually be totally crucified in your new life and compassion will become your eyes and heart as Christ lives in and through you.
